MSNBC host Ali Velshi quipped that he wished there was an “English to English” translation for President Donald Trump’s incoherent statement Monday.
On Monday, Trump bizarrely gave a statement with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto on speakerphone.
“We had simultaneous translation from the Spanish to English for the Mexican president,” Velshi said. “Unfortunately, we didn’t have simultaneous translation for the English to the English, because the president didn’t make a whole lot of sense. That was a little hard to interpret.”
“The Mexican president referred to Canada about five times there,” Velshi added. “The president kept saying this wasn’t a deal with Canada. He wants to tax Canadian car companies. There are no Canadian car companies.”
