First lady Melania Trump offered support for NBA superstar Lebron James on Saturday after President Trump attacked him on Twitter this Friday, The Hill reports. Big brain Donald Trump was out questioning other’s intelligence, causing a huge stir on the internet.
The president insulted James on Friday night hours following a re-aired CNN interview featuring the Los Angeles Lakers player and reporter Don Lemon. “Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon,” Trump tweeted. “He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do.”

A day after her husband posted the tweet, the first lady offered a much warmer take on the basketball player through a White House spokesperson on Saturday.
“It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation and just as she always has, the First Lady encourages everyone to have an open dialogue about issues facing children today,” the first lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement.
The first lady also said that she was “open” to the idea of visiting James’ newly opened school for low-income youth, which he announced this week. The “I Promise” elementary school in Akron, Ohio is set to serve over 200 at-risk children and their families.
In the CNN interview, James was critical of Trump, saying that the president is using sports to try to divide the American people. He also said of Trump: “I would never sit across from him.”
