Actor John Goodman revealed that Roseanne Barr’s character will be killed off for ABC’s new “Roseanne” spin-off called “The Conners.”
The show was canceled in May when Barr made a racist comment about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. ABC announced that they will launch a spin-off called “The Conners,” which is expected to feature everyone in the cast except Barr.
Goodman, who plays Barr’s husband Dan on the show, told The Times of London that Barr’s characters will be killed off in the storyline.
“I guess he’ll be mopey and sad because his wife’s dead,” Goodman said of his Dan character.
Elsewhere in the interview, Goodman insisted that the real-life Barr is not racist.
“I was surprised. I’ll put it this way, I was surprised at the response. And that’s probably all I should say about it,” he said, before adding, “I know, I know, for a fact that she’s not a racist.
