CNN host Chris Cuomo told White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to take her lies “to Fox” after the two had a heated discussion Thursday night.
After repeatedly interrupting each other, Conway accused CNN of interfering in the 2016 election by playing the “Access Hollywood” tape and with “phony polling.”
“You were a world-class journalist. You used to go to plane crash sites and cover war and famine,” Conway said.
“I go now,” Cuomo replied.
“No, you don’t,” Conway said.
“I went to Helsinki and saw one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen in my life,” Cuomo shot back.
Cuomo attempted to get Conway to admit that Trump lied about not knowing about Michael Cohen’s hush payment to a porn star Trump allegedly had an affair with. Conway complained that Cuomo wasn’t giving “respect” to the president.
“The truth matters,” Cuomo said, pointing out Trump’s contradictory statements. “The truth is he lied about this. You guys should own it and move forward.”
Conway later complained that Cuomo was not letting her talk.
“You’re shutting me down,” she said, accusing him of being sexist.
“Nobody can shut you down,” he replied “We both know that.”
“I can’t let you say things that aren’t true. That’s not what this show is about,” he said. “That’s Fox. You go to Fox for that.”
