Kodili Okechuwu (pronounced like “Cuddly”) was part of a group of six black professionals out celebrating a birthday at the Overdrive Lounge last Thursday, who managed to film a horribly uncomfortable situation that unfolded when a lady crashed their party and joined them on the couch.
Sonya Pate, a Customer Experience Manager at Porsche in Annapolis, Md, was filmed seemingly drunk, plopping down on the couch of this group of women. Pate began to talk to herself and try to engage the group. When they politely asked her to leave, she refused.
That’s when Okechuwu pulled out her camera.
So this happened last night. Random woman comes, sits down at our table at @Porsche experience center in Atlanta and no one did anything to her and we ended up getting kicked out. pic.twitter.com/kNln4Z0Dhm

The party complained to the manager, Ricardo Pomales, and Pomales actually was filmed on camera being super accommodating to the party crasher.
The group of black women was eventually asked to leave, and they did, making it clear that this battle wasn’t done. Thanks to Black Twitter, the video went viral, and the women were contacted by Sonya Pate herself.
