Cyndi Ralston, who has worked in schools for three decades, announced she will run as a Democrat in Oklahoma’s 12th District.
She said that she was motivated to run because of Rep. Kevin McDugle’s comments saying he will refuse to vote “for another stinking [education] measure when they’re acting the way they’re acting.”
“You’re losing support of people who supported you all year long,” McDugle said in a Facebook video that has since been deleted. “Now you’re going to come here and act like this after you got a raise?”
“If Kevin McDugle won’t fight for teachers and students, then I will,” Ralston wrote on Facebook in response. “If Kevin McDugle won’t back parents over oil companies, I will. If Kevin McDugle won’t treat his constituents with respect and dignity, I will.”
