President Donald Trump’s personal assistant John McEntee was fired and escorted from the White House over an investigation into “serious financial crimes,” but he was immediately hired by the Trump campaign anyway.
McEntee was fired over what White House officials called an “unspecified security issue.”
NBC News later learned that McEntee was under investigation for “serious financial crimes” by the US Secret Service.

According to the Wall Street Journal, McEntee was booted from the White House so fast he wasn’t allowed to go back and retrieve his coat.

Despite the firing and the serious nature of the investigation, McEntee was hired by Trump’s 2020 campaign within minutes of the ouster.
