In a rambling speech at the annual Republican winter retreat in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, off the teleprompter Trump took time to bash Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton.
President Donald Trump was responding to Pelosi calling the bonuses being offered workers as a result of the tax plan “crumbs” in comparison to how much the corporations were benefitting from the GOP tax scam.
Responding to that remark, Trump said this, making sure to get in a Hillary Clinton jab too:
“That was a bad — that could be, like, deplorable. Does that make sense, deplorable and crumbs? Those two words, they seem to have a resemblance. I hope it has the same meaning. But she called it crumbs. When people are getting $2,000 and $3,000 and $1,000. That’s not crumbs. That’s a lot of money.”
The bonuses still only benefit a tiny fraction of the workforce and are just a drop in the bucket compared to the gains the tax plan gives to corporations.
