A chorus director at a Georgia high school was arrested on sexual assault charges, Mail Online reports.
Police say 23-year-old Kayla Berrie is charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old male student.
She was released on $5,000 bond.
Berrie, who recently graduated from the University of Georgia, was hired as the chorus director and assistant band director at Long County High School last year.
The Sheriff’s office told Mail Online they found out about Berrie’s alleged sexual encounter with the student after the teen told his friend and the friend told his mother, who also teaches at the school.
Berrie is suspended with pay pending the investigation.
Berrie is currently pursuing a career as a jazz singer-songwriter and released an album in August.
