An Oklahoma teenager killed a 10-year-old with a crossbow over a disagreement, News OK reports.
Lincoln County deputies arrived at the site of the incident late Sunday afternoon where 10-year-old Austin Almanza was pronounced dead.
His younger brother, 8-year-old Ayden Almanza, was also injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested a 13-year-old boy, whose identity was not revealed.
Officials said both boys were hit by a single arrow fired from a crossbow. The arrow traveled through Austin’s body and hit Ayden in the arm.
Sheriff Charlie Dougherty told reporters at a press conference Monday that there was a “disagreement” that led up to the shooting.
Dougherty said the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
“Ten-year-old Austin’s not dead because of an accident,” Dougherty said. “He’s dead because of an action that took place.”
