A UC Berkeley police officer was caught on video citing a food vendor and confiscating all the cash from his wallet, KTVU reports.
Martin Flores recorded the video, showing the officer arguing with the hot dog vendor outside of the football game before going through his wallet and taking all the money.
“That’s not right,” Flores says as he records the encounter.
“We’ll take it to a judge and the judge can decide whether or not it’s right,” the cop says.
“You’re gonna take his hard-earned money?” Flores asks.
“Yep,” the officer replies.

UC Police Sgt. Sabrina Reich told KTVU that the officer took $60 as “suspected proceeds of the violation and booked into evidence.”
She did not specify why a UC officer cited the vendor when the incident did not take place on Berkeley property.
Flores started a GoFundMe page for the vendor, identified only as Juan, and has already raised over $38,000.
