Officers opened fire on a man approaching them while holding a stick, even though witnesses yelled “he can’t hear you” before they shot him..
Police Captain Bo Matthews says that officers shot 35-year-old Magiel Sanchez for not obeying officers’ commands to stop and drop his stick. He claims the officers did not hear the witnesses.
One of the officers shot his Taser but the other shot his gun. Sanchez died at the scene.
