Walmart has issued an apology after a product description on their website dropped the n-word to describe a hair product.
A vendor had placed the weaving cap — along with the offensive description calling the item n–er brown — for sale on the page, apparently without oversight from Walmart.
In response, customers took to Twitter to call on Walmart to take it down.

The product was then removed by Walmart and this disclaimer added to the page: “While we aim to provide accurate product information, it is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and others, and has not been verified by us.”
The New York Post also reached out to Walmart, who offered a further apology.
“We are very sorry and appalled that this third party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace,” spokeswoman Danit Marquardt wrote in a statement. “It is a clear violation of our policy, and has been removed, and we are investigating the seller to determine how this could have happened.”
The vendor has not been identified.
