Trump has an approval rating of 37%, 30 points lower than Bill Clinton’s the month his sex scandal became public, Newsweek reports. His highest approval rating was in late January, at 45%.
Clinton’s lowest approval rating was 37%, but actually rose during the height of the Lewinsky sex scandal.
A Reuters poll found over a nine-day period this month, Trump lost six points among Republicans.
Trump has been mired in staffing issues, failure to oversee the passing of any major GOP legislation (most recently failing to pass the so-called “skinny repeal” of Obamacare), the ongoing Russian probes and ongoing leaks from within his administration.
To further complicate matters, Jared Kushner, son Donald Trump Jr., Attorney General Jeff Sessions, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and many more Trump associates, friends and family have been tied up in the ongoing Russian investigations.
