FBI Director James Comey: Our analysts have the view that Russia wanted Trump to win the election https://t.co/HwV3HtQdf6— CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) March 20, 2017
FBI Director James Comey testified that the Bureau believes Russia actively wanted Donald Trump to win the election in a House Intelligence Committee hearing Monday.
Asked by Texas Republican Rep. Mike Conaway if the FBI consistently believed that Russia “really wanted Trump to win it and were working to help him win and her lose,” Comey flat out replied, “Yes.”
“Our analysts had a view, that I don’t believe changed, from late fall to the report on January 6 that it had those elements,” Comey said.
A report submitted in January by the heads of the three top Intelligence Agencies concluded that Russia interfered in the election to actively help Trump.
