The expectations for the vice presidential debate were extremely low and Tim Kaine and Mike Pence managed to live down to expectations. The consensus seems to be the Pence won because he came off better than Kaine but that wasn’t hard to do since Kaine spent his entire time actually defending Hillary Clinton while Pence just pretended Donald Trump didn’t exist.
Pence incredulously laughed off all the statements that Kaine quoted verbatim like they never happened, completely lied about what Trump has said his policies are, and completely failed to actually defend Trump.
Kaine, who was branded the loser for interrupting to much, may not have looked good but his repeated interruptions completely shut down a lot of talking points that have been pretty effective attacks on Clinton.
Pence ran as far away from his candidate as he could, Kaine jumped on a grenade for his.
