Tracy Morgan may never act again. The actor is still suffering from injuries related to his accident in June, where a Walmart truck driver hit Morgan’s limo bus, injuring the actor and killing comedian James McNair in the process.
A legal battle between Morgan and Walmart is taking place and it has turned ugly. Walmart is trying to blame Morgan for not wearing a seatbelt, in an accident that is clearly their fault. The truck driver had been working for over 24 hours straight and was heavily sleep deprived.
“After I heard what Walmart said in court I felt I had to speak out. I can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong. I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time. I love you all. I’m fighting hard every day to get back,” said Morgan in a statement.
Morgan’s lawyer, Benedict Morelli, is furious with the company and is unsure whether or not his client can return to acting. “The jury’s still out. The doctors don’t know the answer. I don’t know the answer,” he said.
Morgan’s style was controversial and most certainly an acquired taste, but he didn’t deserve to have his acting career robbed from him and Walmart should pay up for an accident that is their fault. This is another instance of corporate greed and a huge indication of how terrible the people are who run the company.
