Fox News claimed Obama asked England to provide surveillance on Donald Trump before the election, Raw Story reports.
The explanation came after days of the executive branch being asked to provide proof of Trump’s claims that the Obama administration “wiretapped” him. Reporters and FBI Director James Comey have looked for proof or a denial of Trump’s accusations, with no results.
Today, Fox News judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano unveiled a theory that would allow Trump to be right and account for no records:
“Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command,” Napolitano said. “He didn’t use the NSA, he didn’t use the CIA, he didn’t use the FBI, and he didn’t use the Department of Justice.”
Napolitano says Obama asked British intel agency GCHQ, to access the American National Security Agency’s database, which electronically monitors anyone it wants to.
“There’s no American fingerprints on this,” Napolitano said. “What happened to the guy who ordered this? Resigned three days after Donald Trump was inaugurated.”
