Berry was a rock pioneer, best known for hits like “Maybellene,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
Berry was among the first musicians inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when it opened in 1986.
He was ranked 5th on Rolling Stone’s 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
Despite his age, Berry was set to release his first new album in four decades this year.
