Dylann Roof has been showing white supremacy symbols during his trial, MSN reports.
FBI agent Joseph Hamski testified that Roof drew racist symbols on the shoes he wore to court as recently as Monday, and a search of his cell in August 2015 had also found shoes with a white supremacy symbol on them.
Roof faces life imprisonment or the death penalty for killing nine black church members in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015. He has been representing himself without cross-examining witnesses or asking the jury to show him mercy.
Roof has been convicted of 33 federal offenses, and the jury will soon begin deliberating on his sentence. His main objection to the trial has been asking for more frequent breaks during the emotional testimony of witnesses to his massacre.
Roof has repeatedly shown no remorse for his actions.
